Saunders Boston Architects won this project via a Design Competition. The building is of high political importance, being seen as a landmark development for the authority that has future plans for building council housing.
SBA also acted as Interior Designer throughout both work phases, working to a budget of £50k (including fees) for the procurement of all FF&E to shared spaces including furniture, window treatments, feature lighting, artwork, planting and accessories.
The building features a dramatic double height entrance foyer, with cantilevered Gallery at first floor. The FF&E has transformed this space into a welcoming, biophilic environment promoting social interaction.
There is an exceptionally strong sense of community in the development which has been galvanised by the quality of the spaces, finishes and furnishings. Feedback from residents has been extremely positive.
