Saunders Boston Architects were appointed alongside Pentaco Construction to deliver a brand-new sports pavilion in Northstowe for South Cambridgeshire District Council.
The Pavilion will serve the Western Park sports pitches, bowling green and hard surface game areas. It will provide changing facilities, a fully accessible changing places facility, and a large clubroom area that includes a commercial kitchen and servery.
The Pavilion’s green credentials include an air source heat pump, electric vehicle charging points, solar panels and wastewater heat recovery.
It has been great working with Pentaco, the team at South Cambridgeshire District Council and the rest of the design team to deliver The Pavilion.
The new Northstowe Sports Pavilion site is located in close proximity to the new Primary School and Local Centre Square sites in the heart of Northstowe. It is bounded on its immediate eastern edge by the public car park intended to serve the pavilion, sports facilities and allotments.
The single story sports pavilion was built to Sport England Standards and consists of;
· 6 changing rooms
· 3 officials changing rooms
· Flexible club room area with storage
· Kitchen
· Changing places facility
· Accessible toilets/changing
· Male/Female visitor’s toilets
· Reception/office space
· Internal and external storage
The wider site includes a new 3G pitch to FA & Football Foundation standards, a Mini-football, a MUGA and lawn bowls
