As a leading voice in the above sectors, Darren sits on several steering committees and has presented at key sector conferences. He is a member of several industry organisations and a co-author of sector-specific publications.
Residential
Privately funded projects have been designed and delivered for international, national, regional and local developers, housebuilders, agents, land promoters and individual clients.
Darren manages numerous publically funded frameworks for Registered Providers, Local Authorities and Charities. Many of the projects resulting from these frameworks are funded by Homes England.
Projects range in size from a single dwelling to 300+ and include new build developments on Greenfield and Brownfield sites, remodelled and extended schemes as well as conversions of listed and historic buildings.
Increasingly, Darren is managing his specialist Residential and Interior Design teams in delivering joint venture mixed-use, mixed-tenure developments.
A member of the (eastern region) Housing Learning Improvement Network (HLIN) steering committee, Darren is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CiH). He has presented at several National Housing Federation (NHF) events”.
Retirement Living + Care
Darren has over 20 years of architectural experience working in the Retirement Living and Care sector. Based in Cambridge he leads a specialist Architectural and Interior Design team in delivering projects nationally for both privately and publically funded clients.
Over the past decade Darren has designed and managed numerous developments from £100k to £40m+ including supported, sheltered and extra care housing, as well as buildings tailored to individuals needs that are living with various physical and or mental conditions.
Darren is also working on several privately funded CQC registered Care Homes and Retirement Living projects at the aspirational end of the market where he is currently designing innovative flexible apartment layouts for several clients.
Co-Chair of the (eastern region) Housing Learning Improvement Network (HLIN) steering committee, Darren has spoken at the annual HLIN conference and also co-authored the Suffolk County Council Design and Management Guide for Very Sheltered Housing.
