Saunders Boston were appointed following a competitive tender process to provide full architectural design and lead consultancy service.
Working closely with the Parish Councils Steering Group for local amenities, Saunders Boston developed a phased master plan for the development of this edge of village site. The overall development included; new grass pitches, an all weather flood lit training pitch, play area, BMX track centrerd around a new community pavilion.
The proposed pavilion was designed to marry in with the local character of the historic village but also provided a modern facility to suit a range of activities ranging from; performance arts to judo.
The flexible design also allowed the pavilion to be split into two distinct elements; two team changing rooms and officials changing spaces were to the east and community facilities to the west which includes a 250 sq m main hall, secondary community room and kitchenette.
The environmentally consious design included a large photovoltaic arrey, natural ventilation to key spaces and water saving measures.
