Saunders Boston Architects has launched SBA100 Architectural Walks, a year-long initiative in celebration of its centenary. The project is made up of 10 scenic visits to the practice’s historic architectural design sites, both in Cambridge and further afield.
The inaugural walk took place on 26 April and started at the practice’s central Cambridge offices, finishing at the buildings it designed for Anglia Ruskin University. Other walks, which will run until January 2020, include site visits to Saunders Boston Architects’ core areas of practice specialism, including buildings such as The Fisher Building at St John’s College, University of Cambridge, The Perse School Cambridge, Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre, Spillers Mill and more, reaching as far as London.
The walks have been tailored to encourage employees to reconnect with historic company designs, and Margherita Cesca, Senior Project Architect, who has driven the initiative, plans to invite the public and local architecture enthusiasts to future walks.
More information can be found on the Saunders Boston Architects website, and the walks can be monitored on social media using the hashtag #SBA100architecture.
