We are pleased to announce Arthur Rank Hospice Charity as our 2019/2020 Charity of the Year; kick-starting the partnership with a staff pumpkin design and carving competition that puts our architects’ artistic talents to the test. The event is the first in a year-long partnership that will see us support the charity through a series of fundraising events and initiatives; including participation in the charity’s annual Fire Walk.
Darren Heffer, Director, said: “The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is close to the hearts of many people at Saunders Boston Architects, so we really wanted to offer our support back to the charity through our Charity of the Year programme. The charity’s commitment to ensuring quality of end of life care, and supporting people and families through the hardest of times, is very important to us.”
Arthur Rank Hospice cares, free of charge, for more than 4,000 patients every year through its Cambridge-based hospice, the Alan Hudson day treatment centre, and therapy services at the Evelyn day therapy centre. The charity also cares for patients in their own homes through its Arthur Rank Community team; a community-based team that specialises in palliative care.
Emma Bray, Corporate Fundraiser at Arthur Rank Hospice, said: “We are delighted that Saunders Boston Architects has chosen to support us over the next year, and we really value the opportunity to share the work of our charity and the impact Saunders Boston Architects’ support will have on the care we provide. The Halloween evening was a fantastic initiative - we were so pleased to be part of it and were impressed by how incredibly talented the team were at pumpkin carving!”
